Hi everyone, help please, I am trying to wire this light via enclosed instructions. the unit has a 4 terminal block, N Earth L and L' . I have wired mains to live neutral and earth as instructed, on opposite terminals that go to sensor it is wired blue to neutral brown to live and white to L' with nothing to earth on that side, (prewired). I am wiring from a socket using a 3amp fuse. nothing works so any help appreciated thanks.

Are you plugging it into a 13amp socket, have you wired it in flex?

first check if you have 240V across L-N and L-E. if so, and you seem to have wired it correctly, then check that you have got the lamp ( tube) seated correctly in the contacts at both ends. seen loads where the lamp is not connecting.

yes plugged into 13amp socket using 3core cable, I cant now even get the lens cover off to check the bulb is seated properly, "unbelievable"

stick a continuity tester across the N & N pins on the plug and see what that says!

Most PIR security lights nowadays are switchable (from Automatic to manual). The white wire is probably the switch wire and it does need to be wired through a switch not a plug and socket. If you re-read the Installation Destructions you may find it says, N-neutral, L-live, L'-switched live. But go with my forum name "If in doubt. DON'T". Post your home town and someone on here may be able to help.
