Hello all
i have been asked to supply power to an outside event i have made a small board comprising of 4 double sockets and one 16 amp socket all on
16 amp rcbo,s . It will be fed from a 40 amp 60898 mcb am i correct in saying that the main switch on my board needs to be a 100mA or greater rcd
rather than a standard 60947-3

I assume the 4 double sockets are the normal BS 1363 type and therefore will be used for outside equipment less than 32 amps, therefore you will need to provide them with 30mA additional protection

Not sure if your a sparks or not, but a 100amp 60947-3 will have no mA rating. If your asking if you should fit a switch larger than 100 Amps then no because you have said earlier that this board is being fed by a 40amp MCB, so you will never exceed the 100amps that a 60947-3 is rated for
 
A 60947-2 is an MCCB while the quoted 60947-3 is a normal switch.

The cable feeding your board should be protected by one of the following either a BS 60947-2 which is an adjustable MCCB, the type that have the dials on it, or an S type RCD which is the time delay type. This is order to have discrimination with your 30mA RCBO's
