A friend is having his kitchen refitted and I have a number of queries:

1. Can an oven and hob (electric) be positioned next to the sink (the draining board side) with a washing machine on the the other side? It sounds like bad practice, but is it against the Regs?

2. The hob CCU is located way above worktop level and needs to be lowered ie additional cable is required. How should this be connected to the original cable (crimping?)?

3. Can the 6mm2 cable from the CCU to the connector plate (behind the present oven) be rerun upwards vertically and then horizontally just above the worktop to the new CCU position?

The oven will be plugged in (sub 3 Kw) and chasing will be >than 50mm (non RCD protected) The protective device is a 30 A fuse.

Any help appreciated.
