Have been asked to provide a timer for a 3kw over door heater in a commercial premises (mens clothes shop). It's so the shop is warmed up a bit when they come in first thing in morning.
Obviously, it's has a small integral motor but I can't find a spec for it, just the heater output. Most standard timers will only handle an inductive load of 6A tops and/or 3kw resistive. Can anyone offer any advice on best course of action. ie should I install a contactor to be on safe side?
I don't do much commercial work so haven't had that much experience in this field although I have installed contactors before mostly for fluorescent lighting loads.
Any help would be most welcome.
