Just finished a garage install. I asked if my quote was much less than the others. The customer supplied all the sockets (MK), lights and CU (MK) and CU for house (Wylex). All I supplied was some cable and conduit. and 2 days of my time. I quoted competetively at ÂŁ470
The customer told me that he had a quote from Mr Electric for ÂŁ1200!!!!!
I nearly fell over. He told the customer that he would be charging him at least ÂŁ10 per socket even though the customer was supplying them. He was also very arrogant and brash.
You can imagine the customers joy at my phone call with my quote. I was worrying that he would say no as money is tight for everyone at the moment.
As it happens the customer was a carpenter and had a fair idea of the costs so payed me ÂŁ500 instead!!!!! He also helped out like an apprentice (double bonus).
Anyone else come accross massive over inflated pricing like this?
