Is it necessary to do a pat course to enable you to do pat testing, i have full apprenticeship and 17th is that good enough?
cheers

PAT is similar to testing an installation in terms of tests you do, order of tests etc.
I would recommend at least getting hold of a copy of the "code of practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment"
ISBN 978-0-86341-833-4
and having a read through that before you start. I did the 2377-200 course for £270 which I found useful, but tbh you should be able to figure it out from reading the book.
