Correct (as long as it is before the rcd) you can do either the 2 lead or 3 lead test before an rcd , but it has to be the 3 lead , no trip option after an rcd. Thanks i get it now
So the test i would use on my TNCS system and the consumer unit being a MK dual RCD board would be
To set the megger onto the HI loop setting into the green area
then test form LIVE TO EARTH then LIVE TO NEUTRAL and record the highest reading as my PFC ?

Yeah thanks for that much aprreciated guys got their in the end but its so important to make sure its right you have no other option than to be ---- about it [ as one of a better phrases ]
I mean obviously im new to this but once i get my inspection out the way i want to take the level 2 testing and inspection to boost my confidence then maybe onto the level 3.
Thanks once again guys for all the replies much appreciated and very helpfull.
Perfect attitude, pity the perpetrators of much of the certification that I come across didn't have the same pride!
Im a bit confussed now ahh forgive me i just noticed on the megger the top hole has the NO TRIP LOOP so this would be the neutral which would be connected thoughout the test ? correct ?
So the test would be a 3 lead test in reality then ? not a 2 as i thought ? is this correct ? many thanks volt
