Well just to update you I paid out £800 7 months ago to get tooled up for PAT and I have a job on Monday that will have paid this debt off .

So am I pleased well yep a lot happier that it is no longer a cost and that it will now be paying for itself.

Will I make a living out of it emm no it suppliments or compliments the business.

Do I want to do PAT full time well no (I am not allowed to swear) way

PAT testing is so BORING but does provide more potential work, if you can stand the excitement!

Well I fought it for long enough calling it a loss leader no I am thinking its a door opener either way it was a mistake in not having it

Still does not mean I like it though so on a wet cold November morning when I am doing it other than stuck in the house and making money I will learn to love it LOL NOT

Good luck old boy. I did two years of PAT testing once a week for 8-10 hours. Now do a bit here and there and that's quite enough for me. It does, as you say, occasionally lead to some proper work though, if you're lucky!

Well done for making it pay for itself in just 7 months, in the current climate of under-cutting cowboys and low profit margins that's good going, and even more praiseworthy to have done it part-time mate.

Well done - an £800 testing job is a good catch.

I've often found that the PA testing can lead to other (less boring) work too!
