hi there,
sorry if this has been covered before,

But Im just about to go out and take the big step and go on my own,
i just wanna know what paperwork or diagrams you guys normally put in when you hand over the certificate,
do you make a folder up with every thing in?

if any one could be kind enough to show me templates of there stuff id be very grateful,
just want to make the right impression.

thank you for your help :)

Good luck going on your own mate. Sadly (or luckily for the customers), I'm not on the tools anymore but I am sure everyone will have different things they will give the customer. Obviously the basics, like manufacturers/operators instructions for the equipment you have fitted, warranty, the test certs etc.. But I am sure others will leave a lot more. Some even leave a copy of their JIB card.

For rewires I create a hand over pack if you like using an A4 display book. Stick my business card in the front. Write a quick cover note out laying the works covered inside. I include all instructions and spare labels from the equipment. Obviously the certificates and schedules. I also describe key locations of the installation I. E where the cables drop to the fuse board, the approximate midpoint of RFCs, where the End Of Lines are, any out of site FCUs or isolators, main bonding clamps etc. Data/TV installs have there own sections. And I also include a Maintenence Information page which outlines how to use and test the RCDs and smoke alarms properly.

Domestic & commercial are very different games....domestic you can supply a nice package of certs.....commercial is a full hand over O & M....as fitted cad drawings, specifications, data of equipment installed, certs, tests sheets...etc
