I've got a big rewire on this summer with 50 downlights. Thing is it will not be finished until October and as I understand it new part L will be in force then? I'm told second hand that the new regs will day that just low energy lamps must be used, not the fittings, in a % of situations. Does anybody know about this? If the installation in terms of design and first fix were completed before the regs cone in, should the installation comply with the old or new Part L?
Confused and ignorant here!

Thanks!

IMO if it was designed and 1st fixed before the reg change then it should be ok the same as it was when they changed from 16th to 17th edition of BS 7671.

compact flurries throught??? yep the customer is gonna love the extra cost that incurrs, more reason for people o think we are ripping them off
