Wondering if someone could help me out with this query.

Does anyone know what the ruling is on using part M complient outlets (grey type) in educational buildings?

I have been looking to find the clause that states these type of accessories must be used but can't and was wondering if it is only a specific council requirement or whether it is written within a BS or building reg guide.

Thanks.

AS far as I know the specific type of accessory is not specified in the building regulations approved documents.
Accessories should be easy to use, understand, and see. Thinking about visual contrast, size , height of accessory, ease of use for varying levels of physical dexterity.
read pages 48-50 of approved document M that details what is required.
It is very possible that specific accessories are specified by your local council, you would need to ask them what they require.
