To be able to do your 17th edition you'll have to know all your terminology etc as its a test on the latest version of the regs.
As for the certificate in domestic electrical installers, it aint a qualification.
Get on the City and Guilds 2330 lever 2 and 3 instead
Agreed,
When i was looking into the courses this stood out 1 its easy 2 its quick 3 its cheap
The way this was Explained to me was this course was started to let plumbers/gas fitters commision there own work then it was decided it would be enough to allow people to work on domestic.
The course itself simply is the first weeks of the 2330 lv2 with exam 17th addition then 2382
but to be honest you will walk away none the wiser or confident to work plus you really narrow your market
do the 2330 lv 2 2330 lv 3 2382,2391 thats the path i am taking will take about a year to do but if you can get on with a sparky you will be ok this however is not the easy part by far
I am working with a really nice sparky and am lucky and know it! this is where the real learning comes in and i would not even contemplate doing anything without him to check it out for some time
anyway if you can afford it and can wait longer to be qualified do the full course i am 32 yr old and wish i had done this sooner even thought i arent bringing any money in.
Plus i dont know how you would get on with getting accredited with Napit ect..?
but its up to you and what you can stretch to better to spend £6000 then waste £2500?
but please dont get me wrong i dont know enough about the domestic installer to say if its bad or good just the choice i made based on advice given by sparkys and tutors
And make sure you check the training center offers the proper qualifications i heard of one saying it was full electricians course and infact it was domestic insaller!
If you want any more info give me a shout i have done this once so can help you out with centers and what courses you need to be a fully qualified electrician ect
