Hi all,

I have got my first assesment coming and I have changed a ccu to show them a job but as for the certification i am thinking i need to issue a installation cert but i dont need to test all the circuits i have tested 2 circuits and done Ze, Zs and checked water and gas could someone advise on this. Cant afford to fail this i aint been going long and im not sure how strict they are.

Cheers

My take on this is,

You need to issue a full certificate for all circuits and earthing arrangements.

This is obviously a notifiable bit of work, so all relating paperwork may be asked for....wasnt when I did mine (Bummer as I had paid for a notification)

CBW

I am in sunny Suffolk, if your local I would be happy to help out....not too busy at present but not bothered as have a good pension!

Hi there.

As you have changed the overcurrent and fault protection characteristics for all the circuits in that CU, you need to issue an EIC with ALL the circuits tested and recorded on it. Aslo building control will need to be notified unless you are confident of passing and registering the work via your scheme provider after your assessment.

THe scheme provider will be looking for this so it's important that you do it.

On the cert in the extent covered box simply put "upgrading of consumer unit only" and on the periodic label that you attached to the front of the CU write on it "CU change only".if thats all you did. Also did you check all earthing and bonding was up to regs as they will be looking at that too.

Each circuit has got to be tested, if not how would you prove they comply with 7671?

What did you check the water and gas for, leaks?

As in how strict the they are, well you have only checked 2 circuits, then I'm prety sure you won't be passing.
