I am a newly qualified, Part P, 2382, 2377, EAL Certified Domestic Electrical Installer. I have been asked to install a power shower but am not a member of a competent persons scheme. I believe in order to comply I must inform the LABC of the work and pay their charge before commencing. Is this right? Also, if I were to do the work on the quiet and there was a problem resulting from my work, the clients building insurance would likely to be invalidated?

Yes inform LABC which will cost you more than ya actual job is contracted for 9/10

if you were to do work on the quiet then yes invalidate there insurance in the event off a problem, also commit a crime and break building regulation, place your self and home owner in a position to a hefty fine from LABC

So practically, if I have 20 'notifiable' job in a week (here's hoping), do you inform the competent persons scheme, before, after or when?
