Carried out an EICR in a commercial premises, unsure about where it falls in with regards too 'part p' with reference too the guide, a commercial premises with domestic dwelling above which are fed from the same meter would fall under 'part p', this installation however is fed from the same service head but they have seperate meters located in there own premises. This question all stemmed from me looking into requirements for Fire Alarm system within the shop and as a domestic dwelling was above would it need a half sensible system with a sounder circuit taken up into the flat. Your thoughts would be appreciated!

Regards Matt.

Of the flat has its own meter then the commercial EICR does not come under part piddle, keep the fire alarms separate as you don't want anything in the flat interfering with the system, if anything make sure the flat has inter linked smokes.

Thanks for that, appreciate your response!

as high tower said, install fire alarm in shop. nothing to stop you fitting a sounder in the flat, though to give the tenants of the flat a warning if there was a fire below.

I would be more inclined to stick the sounder on the stairwell, out of reach, you know if you put a sounder in the flat some cretin is bound to fiddle with is or break it!

Yea thats what I was thinking, it was more my concience I was worrying about rather than the regulation side of things!
