hi folks,

you guys have probably heard this a million times but

do u need to be registered with a part p scheme and pay there yearly fees to carry out domestic works.

for example changing a cu then testing .

if you have a jib gold card making you approved with 2391 test and inspect.

please do forgive my ignorance

if you want to comply with part pee of the building regs. for notifiable works, then yes you do. bloody farce. any Electrical Trainee incompetent can become a member of a scam, but a time served spark who is far more qualified can't unless he's prepared to pay the ransom.

Guidance from the IET.

Building Regulations - Part P certification schemes - IET Electrical

Scroll to the bottom, to the bit that says, "Will electrical contractors be forced to join a competent persons scheme?"

Point number 2 may be of interest, including the link to the IET/BCA Alliance document

Stoma costs ÂŁ288.00 per year

LABC can charge this for 1 Part P installation.

Makes sense to join up..... or ..... simply buy more food for your horse.

Or

Move to Scotland

thats just absolutely ridiculous went to the link steve so either way u have to pay to carry out works!!??? 288 quid a year isnt too bad to be honest but its just the thought and cheek of it..they will send someone round to 'test and inspect the installation' if not registered and will cost a nice fee....whats the point of 2391 then and college and apprenticeship lol this makes me angry but laugh at the same time

Well. I'm sick of saying it ,but I used to be in a scam, but now all I do is download an iet form and send that in ,sometimes they (bc) question it ,if they do I just email my 2391 over and all's well (WEST LANCASHIRE AREA )
