Regarding the part P scenario, we , i mean my partner and think that yeh its good to ween the cowboys out, but we also think also that its the bloomin tax that are involved in this as well, cause they know every job has to be registered therefore that means an invoice has to be raised therefore cutting any cash jobs that are out there, right out of the eqaution right away, not as though we get any cash jobs anyway, but its there plain as day, big brother watchin every move aka, TAX MAN.

One of my favourite subjects!!!!

There are highly educated people in high places who's job it is to constantly look at how they can extract more money from our relatively low population

One day one of these chaps looked at the figures and realised there were X amount of Electricians in the UK
They then worked out how much cash they could make by using regulations and legislation as a stealth tax under the disguise of SAFETY.

This is a Police State and Gordon has a firm grip on a balls. Whenever necessary he tightens his grip a little bit more and although we can grumble and squirm, its impossible to avoid it

Yes i am an anti-capitalist, revolutionary so and so

Yep, thanks boys, my suspicions and that of my oppo are right then, Job---raises an invoice ---- has to be registered ----- TAX MAN, no way round it thats what it is, got yer by the perverbials.

For every rule brought in we will beat them and find a work around

don't forget we live in a democratic dictatorship

how can anyone disagree when we didn't vote in the current leader

slightly off topic but hey

Hi lads what if you do jobs for nothing a favour say the mother inlaw?

Not a problem at all....but if it's certifiable (or the mother-in-law is) you should issue a Cert. There's no Regulation which says that certificates have to be accompanied by invoices.....well, yet.

Well I was late notifying an extension by 2 months, only realised the other night honestly thought I'd done it. So when i realised i thought S!!T the customer won't have had his completion cert from building control cos I hadn't notified yet. I got in touch and he said he's already got his completion cert!!

Hows that work? I thought BC would have to be notified by a scheme first to proove the electrics had been done by a "competent" person to Part P.

That's weird....I thought, like you, that the electrical stuff was required before sign-off. Just goes to show how all of this is so disconnected!

This would be me too, except that I keep a small ruled table at the beginning of my certificates folder which says whether a job has been certificated, printed/filed, notified to NICEIC and sent to the client. There's a tick for each so I don't forget! Poor old bugger.

You are right. Sounds like the LABC cocked up when they sent the completion cert out. In contrast I had to battle with my local LABC to get a completion cert for an extension even though I had notified them through the NIC!!. Took me weeks and loads of phone calls, both to NIC and LABC. NIC said they had notified and LABC said they hadn't recieved it!! .

Its happenend twice now. WHY DO I PAY £400+ PER YEAR FOR THIS POO!!

And why does it only cost £157 for CORGI/ Gas Safe registration and £400 odd for Part P. Total con.
Can't wait to see the back of it.

Rant over.:)

It's true, much as I'm in favour of removing the DIY electrical work from homes I agree that Part P is badly implemented and grossly over-priced.

Actually, it's more than £400 per year when you take into account a lost day for inspection and all of the prep for that.

Everytime I register a job with elecsa, I print off the details of the job (which is produced by Elecsa) and then just staple it to the certificate as proof that it has been registered.

Has anyone on here had a client take out the guarantee that we have to offer?
