Hi Peter
NO you dont need any qualifications just deemed competent by the assessor the requirments are you get qualified within the first membership year ! as long as you show your complying with part p is the requirment. arnt you already a member of NICEIC ?
Kung.

So far as I understand it you have to be competant to carry out electrical work in domestic situations and, if the work is notifieable under Part P building regs, it either has to be inspected and signed off by someone who is in a competant person's scheme (run by NICEIC amongst others) or is inspected by a local authority building inspector.

Alright Pete, didn't you take your NIC assessment earlier this year.

Thought if you pass this and become registered as a Domestic Installer, then arn't you covered for all the Part P stuff?

Only asking as i'm not that far down the road yet.

Guys

I'm trying to explain to a guy at work even if he has his 2330 if he does a house rewire he has to let bc know or be with a scheme. He seems to think that he will be a niceic registered domestic installer once he passes his exams. But have told him to get that you have to pay each year and they come out and check two of your jobs
