HI MEMBERS HOPE THAT YOU ALL ARE MANAGING TO GET AROUND THIS AWFUL WEATHER,I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY OF YOU HAVE HEARD ANY RUMOURS ABOUT THE PRESENT
" PART P " FINISHING ?
AN APPRENTICE AT OUR FIRM HAS JUST COME TO WORK THIS MORNING HAVING TAKEN HIS 17TH EDITION COURSE LAST NIGHT AND SAID THAT THE TUTOR SAID TO THEM LAST NIGHT THAT THE PART P SCHEME IS FINISHING,JUST WUNDER IF ANYONE HAS HEARD ANYTHING MORE ON THIS MATTER ?
REGARDS
FIXIT.
:confused::confused::confused:

not heard anything like that about the p, i would have thought there was too much revenue in it to drop it. probably be replaced with something worse if they did

It's not finishing, the rules on it will just be changing over the next couple of years, tighter rules on getting approved, 2391 will be compulsory and will work on a card system like in australia.. This is what the ECA are pushing for

Its a new government with lots to keep them amused
The scheme costs them nothing to have in force
They dont fund the notification, enforcement or Labc non involvement,so where is their insentive for change?
Part crap will be here until it finally fades away, when the registering spark finally comes to his senses and realises its a total waste of time
It wont go with a bang,it will just get less and less relevant

The Card system is a great idea. I heard it'll be a licensing system like USA and Canada.
2391 compulsory?! That will really up the stakes.

What I read was that they are not getting rid of part p but they are remodeling the building regulations. Reducing it from 18 parts to a few. something like that anyway

The sheds would take a bashing, not being able to sell leccy bits to anyone without a card. Dont think it would be to well recieved!

not sure that would happen, you can buy gas cookers and boilers at sheds now, what may change is that the public may be baneed from doing any elec work as is the case with gas (unless you are competant ect ect ect)

Even if implemented it would be 4 years down the line
When or if it ever comes(as far as I am aware)the corgi gas was and still is (Gas safe now) way down on what they hoped to get conformity wise
They wont fill me with any hope of making things sensible, economic, and to the best interests of sparks and customers alike in the near future
Remember these politicians reside on an alien planet and are oblivious to life on earth
