Hello Sparks, new to forum but would appreciate some advice..I am mostly industrial electrician got 17th edition but friend of family want a new electric oven that needs a new circuit to be installed which I can do but who can i get to sign it off for building regs?

local authority will want to see first and second fix and charge a fortune. you would also have to prove competancy in testing and certs.
a mate with part p etc shouldnt sign it off but only give periodics i hear. thats what elecsa site says anyway.
ask around and see if anyone is willing to help you out. someone may know more/have better ideas for you but thats my idea.
welcome to the forum by the way!

Part P to Building Regulations - The IET

Hi Joel and welcome.

Pretty much as above really, although its Part P that does not allow third party certification and not the scheme providers.

Your only solution to this is to involve the LABC.

thanks very much for that. Apreciate it.....I'll ask around. Seems a bit mad that experienced and qualified people can't practice the trade and it's very hard to get a company to pay for us to do all these courses. I just did a compex course cost over a grand and still can't find a job. Any one heard of Dragon LNG i was there!
