Hi, just after some info, I've just started on my own after being the qualified supervisor of a company for two years and just an installer for 6 years before that. I'm about to sign up with the NICEIC but it will be about 4 months until I am a full member and submit my jobs through to building control from the submit a job section on the nic website. Until I can do this how can I get around it without paying the council 200 for each job?

If you so chose.you should be able to get a fast track admission to most of these scams

I thought that in England there is quite a lot of domestic work that is no longer notifiable ?
You could stick to smaller jobs for now or the larger jobs can be notified when you have got the badge if you get my drift

You could do things the Welsh way, it has never really mattered whether you notify or not,no one cares

Personally I'd be on to the Niccy to tell them to pull their finger out, tell them that you pride yourself on providing your customers with a professional image and job and its a pity that the Nic are unable to do the same. It is their responsibility to assess you and if one assessment officer is unable to cope then its their duty to provide another who can. Stick an email to ms Clancy herself asking her to come and assess you if she has too. Don't put up with it otherwise they will never improve.

to accept unacceptable behaviour makes it acceptable!!
