done some ceramic tile work today on a new extension (home) when i removed the sockets there was no grommets and no earth link to the steel back box red to brown cable crimped together black to blue crimped together shoved into the back box all cables coming up from the worktop under the kick board there are cables crimped together lying on the floor with some tape on it all sockets in the house on the same circuit two wired smoke alarms not working no sticker to advise on colour change i could go on does anybody think this should have passed

The grommetts should have been used.if there is no damage to the cable its probably not worth the damage to install at this time

An earth link to the steel back box is required only if there is no fixed lug for the fixing screws

The item concerning the cables on the floor would have me giving it an unsatisfactory
The other items probably would have given satisfactory if they were the only ones
