Hi all

I have just got myself a contract with a lettings agency and have narrowed down my choice to the following two:

http://www.test-meter.co.uk/products/pat-testing-kits/easypat-2100-pat-testing-kit-3/http://www.test-meter.co.uk/products/pat-testing-kits/easypat-2100-pat-testing-kit-1/

or

http://www.test-meter.co.uk/products/pat-testing-kits/seaward-primetest-100-pat-testing-kit-5/http://www.test-meter.co.uk/products/pat-testing-kits/seaward-primetest-100-pat-testing-kit-5/

I am open to suggestions on other models/makes etc BUT i would like something which will do 110v due to site work etc.

Any suggestions please.

Also one of the above come with a Microwave Leakage Detector and the other comes with a Flash Tester.

Was informed when taught PAT Testing that I probably will hardly ever need to do the Flash Testing so bearing that in mind would the one with the Leakage Detector be a better offer??

Your suggestions will be greatly received.

Chris

I have the Fluke 6500 which I bought because I thought Fluke make good products, and we used one on my PAT course. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the Fluke, but given the choice again I would go for either a Seaward - they have a new one out that apparently can do 3ph as well - or the 'Megger Business in a box'. Do make sure you can do 110V - this is a limitation of my Fluke. As for the freebies, the microwave leakage detector will enable you to earn more money - forget the Flash device, not even sure exactly what it is, but there is very little equipment these days on which there is not sensitive electronics.

PS I am not totally convinced about the 3ph capability of the Seaward and am awaiting a response from them on how it will work.

Agree 100% Seaweed every time. My PAC1500xi bought off ebay for ÂŁ60 does 110v, rugged, reliable, easy to use. passes cal. no faults. Only thing is its a tester, not a computer so you have to use a pen.
