PAT testing causing computer failures ??

Last year in one particular client company- after the PAT tester had done their stuff, a couple of computers had fatal errors - is this normal and this must of happened teh year before but we never made the connection at that time.

I have now insisted that no further tests be done especially on the main SERVER !!

Infact they have been told to merely test the main lead ONLY - unconnected

Since this system protects the company's computer information system, the PAT examiner can only do a visual check.

sounds like he did the insulation resistence test at 500v ... i could be wrong

Rather depends on what type (hardware (won't power on etc/software(bios failure/operating system etc)) of error you meant by "fatal errors"
