pat testing class 2 equipment miniumum reqiurments

when pat testing class 2 equipment do you only have to do a insulation resistance test as a miniumum? or do you have to do more to cover the code of practice

Visual, fuse test and insulation no point doing a insulation test if the fuse has gone its good practice to carry out load and leakage tests too

It depends on the appliance.....if it has an all insulated case,with no exposed metal,(such as a phone charger)then no tests can be carried out....visual only.
If the appliance has exposed metalwork...(yes,some class ii appliances do)...then plug the appliance into the tester,and connect the auxillary IR probe onto the exposed metal to carry out an IR test,this probe takes the place of the missing cpc on a class ii appliance,and ensures a high insulation resistance between energised parts and metal parts-(such as the chuck on a class ii drill).
