Hi ive got a pat testing job to do in a pub and it has about 30 disco lights, some led and some bulbs, how would you go about testing these.
Cheers

In that case test them as they are IT equipment as the 26amp earth bond test could damage them also you could reduce the voltage and test them on IR at 250 or test with the L and N shorted , the test between this and earth

cheers ill give it a go tomorrow, only problem is im only using a cheap tester a seaward primetest 100, hovent purchased my own one yet

Good advice.... I would, as they are micro processor controlled DMX etc

The tester should short out the L and N automatically when you press the IR button anyway so there won't be any pd between them hence won't blow the lamps. There shouldn't be any need to test at 250v although if they are DMX controlled you could use a soft test to be on the safe side, but bear in mind it might give you a higher reading.
