Hi all,

Just a quick question about pat testing in shops.

Is it a legal requirement for the shop to have all of there appliances tested annually?

If they didn't, and the unlikely chance that someone got a shock from an appliance, would they be covered by insurance,

Thanks

Legal requirement, no.

Covered by insurance in the event of injury, no.

If Mr.Shopkeeper is wise, then he shall have them tested. If Mr.Shopkeeper is a buffoon, he won't have them tested.

And, by 'test' i mean...have Mr.Electrician/Mr.Other-Person run in slap stickers on X amount of appliances, and run back out as fast as possible to try and beat his PB/WR in the con-of-pat-testing-olympics.
