Hi All

I was hoping that someone could let me know what sort of price you charge in general for doing a PAT test on appliances. E.g a fax machine in an office.

Thanks

prices vary but are massivly competative. id check people and firms out on google. not just in your area but all over the country. i never ventured down this route as i found it was not worth the hassle for me due to many large companies and sole traders in my area who will under cut each other, especially at this hard time in business. if its a nice size contract ie: couple of hundred items then it may be worth while if you have a plug and play printer etc for the pat tester. if not, you may find all the paperwork etc more than its worth. id say its your choice to weigh it up in your situation. many firms offer the first 50 items free etc (well they dont - they top up the price of each other 200 items to compensate) and some do it just to get repeat work from the same client. prices seem to vary from about 50p to £2 an item. google is your best bet as i said as ringing round companies for a 'quote' is time consuming and they wont want to tell you over the phone and just want foot in door.
check out other firms and build a suitable package from your research. just depends if you need a foot in door for further work or if you need to under cut someone.
many seem far too cheap as they do it as and when it suites them (no other work on or so they dont have to lay lads off etc)

hope this helps.
