Evening all, could anyone suggest any lighting for paving please, I'd ideally like a GU10 LED lamp, but not against changing my mind. The countersunk ones I've seen seem much of a sameness to me, ideally could know if someone has installed them and if they had any issues with them after installing.

Many thanks, Jim

I have fitted a few drive over fittings and have found the ceramic connection supplied will soak up the damp causing shorts.
What I have done is replace connectors with heat shrink through crimps to solve the problem.

Done a fair bit of fault finding on older units and most to be honest end up set in the drive and not working!

I would recommend you choose wisely and as others say, ensure the ground drains!

Some years back I did a large area with sunk in lights. Because of numerous known issues with water ingress a system of 6" plastic soil pipe was buried under the paving with a slight fall. At each light position a hole in the top of the pipe allowed the base of the light to sit inside the pipe. wiring was drawn through the pipe and the system has full access to wiring and joints. There have been no problems at all and if there are they can be easily dealt with. Might seem like overkill but anyone who has ever been asked to sort out faulty lights simply buried under the paving in the usual way will appreciate that it is well worth the extra effort.

Do not fit lights with lamps that are changeable. If the light can be opened up water ingress is assured. Use a sealed LED unit.
