I think the word agency rings a few alarm bells but all governments do hee haw to get a handle on it remember 25 years ago the Tories refused to sign up to the European Employment Act that would have protected employees plus even Labour under Blair promised to stop the abuse then went back on his word nothing new here then instead we are getting it introduced by stealth and drip fed to us why because the agencies have a strong lobby group on this.

Remember Agencies are about getting a cut by screwing an employee and using tax avoidance so its a no brainer that you are getting paid a lot less than the direct employed employee plus they are supplying a service to companies that they also can save money but at the same time utilise "Tax Breaks" to profit by screwing you legally and of course this pays benefits because people are so grateful to have a job and get screwed at the same time.

I know where your coming from. I got told off for having a coat on with a rival M&E firm on it so I had to peel the name off. The other thing that gets to me is every site you go on the main contractor want this type of glove or that type of glove! There should be a UK wide standard for all sites in my opinion.

The only hing you get supplied with on site if you are agency is a pair of gloves and safety glasses,if you are lucky.
I have been on many jobs where they don't even give you a high viz vest and then moan at you for having a different companies - this is normally after they tell you they have ran out of vest but will order more.

Brown and Blair spent 13 years screwing the workers of this country with going on a spending spree and making the work shy better of than the average working man.
The tax rises needed to fund this spending spree(including all the stealth taxes)are what has increased the cost of living so much, and many people are to thick to realise this.
When the cost of living goes up living standards go down, and there are many hard working folk I know that are only just keeping out of the gutter because of this.

What we need is a open review of employment law and agencies as they are costing this country untold billions intaxes every year.

I know many people who have been abused by agencies in many different sectors of working life and most say 'never again'

Yep abuse is the word alright and for what well in my view to make a minority very very rich plus the timing of the European Employment Act came in with Thatcher who refused to sign up for it but the sting in the tail was we could only defer it instead of opting out so we have been getting it by stealth for the past 25 years as for Blair well he dressed up as a Tory to get elected only problem is he was a Tory and spin (propaganda) was what it was all about . Then he bailed out to make his ÂŁ30 million fortune and left Brown who had no chance of turning it around but even then he was too late and the only respect I have for him is he knew he blew it but has refused to profit by it like Blair ie "Im alright Jack"

Sadly people thing short term but agencies in my view are parasites who are still abusing the system and the workers so it amazes me when you read HMRC are persuing plumbers and electricians yet refuse to close the loopholes that allow agencies to get away with it.

Makes you think why you should vote anymore

In my view the full system is corrupt from top to bottom,Tony Blair is a perfect example of this at the very top, while the spark earning some extra cash doing a job on the side is at the bottom of the scale, while there are many inbetween.

The agencies represent a grey area in my book, what they do is perfectly legal, but it is the way that they do it,and openly use every loophole out there and also openly flout the law with no fear of retribution from any of the different authorities.
