Hi All, this should make many of you smile. I am a new member of the forum, a 61 year old doing his first self build with no building work experience just on my "before I die " list. I have apprecieated reading many of the faq's & the answers from the profesionals amongst you which have helped enormously with my quest. As I am at the first fix stage the question of "in the zone wiring" seems to have many interpretations, the bathroom area is well documented but the rest of the house seems open to dicussion. Has anyone a link to an easy to follow guide on the subject with graffics to help this old one out!!!
Many thanks pcp.:)

safe zones are directly vertical or horizontal from accessories ( no diagonal cable runs ) and within 6" of the ceiling ( horizontal) and 6" of a corner ( vertical)

Welcome PCP.

I think your first investment should be an onsite guide.

This gives basic detail of the regs, although it does refer a fair bit to the main book.

The only thing i would recommend is to find a local competent electrician who would be willing to oversee the job.

It will cost you though.

"It works" and "it's safe" are not necessarily the same thing. With DIY work, they are often far from the same thing.
