Hi have carried out periodics for client on a commercial installation back in 2008,some of the remeadial works (codes 1s and 2s) that were highlighted on reports were not carried out and now their insurance company are asking for works that had codes 1 and 2 against them to be carried out and paper work issued to state that installation is now safe.
They seem to me to be asking for a re-issued satisfactory periodic reports!
What would you guys do in this situation?

Have you done the remedial work and have you done another PIR since?

If the answer no then I would not issue a cert as if something goes wrong and your name is on the cert it's you who will be in the dock should legal proceedings take place.

Hi some stores had work done at time and i issued Mw or EIC certs for works carried out,but most stores were not touched and now they are asking for works to be done that had 1s and 2s against them on reports that were carried out in 2008,no further PIRs have been carried out on stores since 2008,What would be best way around this?

Tell them unless you do the work then you will not issue a cert as I said earlier it's your name on the cert should something go wrong, if they want you to do the work then give them a price to do the work if they say no then just walk away.

Do the remidials and issue Minor works certs for each one. They then can show th origional PIR and then the mior works showing the rectification.
Thats what i do

I agree with Scotty.......issue a minor works or an EIC for each code 1 or 2 defect depending on the amount of work needed to remedy it and in the extent covered box link back to the original PIR by stating something like "replacing of broken twin socket in office to PIR number......,Item 4.
