Hi all, first question is, on a fire alarm service does every detector and call point require testing or is there a percentage?

And secondly, what are the requirements on periodics, for instance, for a landlord every 5 years, but what if he decides to not bother with it. Is it mandatory he has it done?

Thanks

chris.

the user should test weekly, using a different zone/detector each week. i'm unsure how rigorous your service should be.some percentage, of course.

landlords periodic is not mandatory, but to have regular PIRs would show his duty of care to his tenants.

Yes the user must test a different call point each week, i mean a 6 monthly service by a fire alarm engineer. If its a big building does he have to test 100%, i heard u can test like 70% unless something fails and then u must test 100%. Also if a landlord does not have a five periodic and has a fire, insurances will want to see this certification? and he could be held responsible?

thanks

chris
