Havent been able to find an answer to this online so thought I'd ask in here in case anyone can advise

Not strictly related to being a trainee, and will move this thread elsewhere if requested to.

I've now got 18th Edition, level 2 diploma and am embarking on level 3 diploma in september. Working with a local firm for coming on 2 years now, frequently completing jobs by myself (subsequently checked by a fully qualified spark). I am at a point where I feel confident enough to be looking for a bit of my own work on the side, to supplement my income. Only minor works jobs of course, I have liability insurance and will take out indemnity insurance as well if I start getting my own jobs. I'm registered self employed / sole trader and so it seems there isn't anything to stop me looking for my own jobs. I would never (knowingly) bite off more than I can chew, and have a mentor & colleagues to call upon should I find something I'm not sure about. But have now problem solved enough situations to consider my level of competence sufficient to safely complete simple stuff, like changing light fittings, adding a couple of sockets to an existing circuit or installing a PIR floodlight on an existing circuit. I know a few people who are less qualified than me who are already doing this kind of thing.

To that end, I have made up a flyer which I'm using to advertise in local shops etc. My question is, I would like to add the C&G logo to my flyer, given that I've got 18th Edition under my belt, this seems reasonable and fair. Is anyone aware of any restrictions about doing so? I could contact C&G directly to ask them I suppose, but thought I'd ask in here first in case there is a consensus about what can or can't be done. I have tried to find written confirmation about this from C&G but doesn't appear to be forthcoming.

Any feedback gratefully received

..Come to think of it I also have a ECS card as an electrical labourer. I wonder if I could also add the ECS logo to my flyer as well.

Yes wear them all on a flyer or business card or van or website. But with website they might get fussy but would always get in touch and you play dumb and remove it.

I know the tile association only let their members display their logo. So some may be quite fussy about it but C&G I've never heard of anybody needing to remove it when genuine.

Thanks for the clarification.

Still unsure about the ECS logo (I mean arguably it's not very relevant to domestic work, which is what I'm looking to do) but I guess I can contact them and ask.

Hi Charlie, this link to the C&G website below has their email address that you have to contact for permission. As someone at the same stage as me who have you managed to get insurance with as I’m tempted to get my own insurance?
