Permitted Development rights and conditions

Hi

When doing the C&G Solar PV course Iwas told that a condition of permitted development was that the panels should be no closer than 300mm to any edge of the roof.

Can someone confirm this for me, as I can't find this in black and white in any documentation.

If this is the case can someone inform me where it is documented.

It is not in the permitted developement legislation as far as I am aware.

The 300mm normally comes from what is considered prudent practice when calculating wind loadings on arrays/roofs
