Hello,
A quick question to see if others have experienced this:
I was re-positioning some sockets in a kitchen today - I tested the continuity of the ring and found the CPC to be broken somewhere. I found it on a FCU (that I hadn't been working on) where both CPCs were broken off at the entry point into the mounting box near the grommet. It didn't look accidental (I wonder if some dunce had broken them off to make more room in the box). Anyway, repaired it. My client then mentioned they'd had 3 fridge-freezers breakdown in the last 2 years and they were all plugged into the socket connected to the faulty FCU.
is there a link here? I'd have thought appliances would still work happily if there was no CPC albeit there is a big and obvious concern with fault protection?
Any thoughts or similar experiences please?
thank you
