Man slaughter as apposed to murder is always going to be a sore subject in the eyes of the law. I think murder is 'set out' to kill someone, where as man slaughter 'end up' killing someone.
ill tell you a true story which I'm not really ashamed to say, but it covers that sore subject. A long time ago my uncle who will remain nameless was bullied by the village idiot for money and sex (my uncle was gay, and so was the village bully, but silently), anyway, this one day he punched my uncle from a side bank into a river and chased him into it, my uncle must has snapped and give him a wallop in the face with a stone from the river bed. It instantly killed him. My uncle was sentenced to 7 years man slaughter but was out in 1 year after the village protested about him being in jail and that he had done the village a favour by 'getting rid' of this bully/drug dealer. Sadly my uncle took his own life in 2006 through depression. So... Murder or manslaughter? Who's to say?? The judge I suppose.
Philpotts needs his balls tied up on a string and have an African safari run over them for a millennium.
