Looking for some help please

My master socket for phone is not what i would call a genuine BT master socket, someone replaced it before i moved in. There is a cable in there with four cores in Blue/white, white/Blue, orange/white, white orange.

I have jointed existing cable to some cat 5e and extended it to a position under my stairs, where i now have my phone socket and router.
I intend running some cat 5e to additional rooms so i can have phone use in the additional rooms.

My questions are, should i use a patch panel?
Do i terminate my original phone line into one set of terminations on the back of the patch panel then daisy chain from there to additional terminations for the other port outlets, dependant upon the number of phone lines i require from the patch panel?

Hope this makes sense

If it was me, by the time you've messed about with a tangle of cat5 (which as far as I can see for telco you can just 'star' out to as many points as you want, no patch bay required) you're better off spending ÂŁ30 on a decent wireless phone!!
