tomorrow i have a 10 pair phone cable to terminate 1 end in the dp 1 end onto an rj45 patch panel 10 lines to 10 rj45

my question being i only have 1 pair per rj45 so which colour do they go on

cheers mark

if not ill work it out by process of elimination:eek:

Numbers 4 and 5 if there not color coded on the panel dependant upon there use. If there for a telephone system which I assume they are being on a patch panel, they may be system specific ie on 3 and 6 the greens or 1 and 2 oranges check with the client also some some digital exchanges need 2 pair !!!!

Multicore order of termination is

Blue, Orange, Green, Brown, Grey starting with the white of each first

through the banded colors you go

White, Red, Black, Yellow, Purple

This is my specialist subject :)

IS the Patch panel A spec or B spec? Really you should stick to Blue and browns for phones IMO other wise the cable cant be used for Phone and IP data (10/100Mbps)
