Been to a Job, Nowt fancy today just a couple of outside lights.. All done fitted and tested.. Just putting insulation back in place ready for early pint..

Them.. .Boooom straight through the blasterd ceiling.... Its the first time this has happened and the first time a job has cost me money.. Taking tommorro off and getting drunk..

Bad times friend. Was it real bad? My grandad went through a cieling years ago, my dad then went through the same ceiling a few years later. I have been lucky so far and am fortunate in the fact i can plaster should i go through one, assuming no artex lol

Got a mate in for the day on a Rewire I was doing, I noticed whilst he was in roof space he was walking across the lathe and plaster rather than joists. Good job he wasn't a big lad otherwise he would have been straight through. Haven't gone through a ceiling yet but did cut into my first pipe a week or so ago. Wouldn't have been so bad on any other day as would have spotted the leak instantly however the plumber was fitting a new rad and system was drained. All floorboards back down and tools away when plumber re pressurises system and keeps doing so as it won't fill. 5 mins later the living room walls are drenched. Luckily plumber repaired it for free and customer was a gd friend.

Not really bad. Just a me size hole.. I like my beer so its would have been smaller years ago. Right on corner so took coving down as well. Just the inconvenience to be fair

I've been through a stable roof, it was rotton as a pear right where the floodlight was! I managed to stop myself with my arms and even saved the sodium lamp in my hand, shame about the roof but the owner was very apologetic and even gave me a tip:)

We renovated an upstairs flat some years ago - new ceilings, walls skimmed, new doors & windows, re-wired, re-plumbed, new central heating, new kitchen & bathroom ...... the works!!

All we had left to do was lay the insulation in the loft which we'd already put up there ready. "No problem" the customer said, "I'll do it, you can get yourselves away."

So, as we're packing the gear away & carrying it to the van, he's up there playing with the itchy stuff when suddenly a foot & half a leg appears through the brand new ceiling .........

No doubt the tip was: "Don't go crawling about on a rotten roof". ;)
