pir and 2D lamp life

can someone tell me if the lamp life of high frequency 2D fittings is reduced with pir switching

the same way the conventional 2D fittings are affected by the switching

I have done a council job fitting hight frequency in stair ways with built in pir, They are affected by repeated switching and manufacturer suggested they stay on for longest possible time inbetween switching.

There was an article in proffesional electrician mag a couple of months back discussing this issue and they gave statistics showing that new LED versions on the market can make savings on running and replacement lamp costs. Not sure of exact details and payback time.

Is the led lamp a straight lamp swap in conventional and hf fittings?

The starter is left in place?
