i recently did a test on a shower circuit, i have a meggar multi function and i set it to no trip for a zs test but every time i tested it tripped the rcd, anyone know why??

also are we ok to do a pir on only one circuit i.e the shower circuit??

hello fire

yes, it trips because there is a fault.

"NO TRIP" only means it won't trip the RCD if everything is ok. Not "no trip ever".

Whats the set up?

are you using 3 leads . on the megger 1552 and 1553 you need to use 3 leads on no trip.

Yes, use 3 leads.

Do a ramp test on the RCD to check where it is tripping on the I delta n current applied by the tester.

You can do a PIR on as little or much of the installation as your client requests/you deem applicable.

Remember though that looking at the installation as a whole, the less testing and smaller the sample/number of limitations, the less value the report has.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
