After you have completed a domestion Periodic Inspection, how far do you go with documentation for the customer.

Obviously you give then the report itself but do you iclude any pages with photos attached to highlight any issues that will need sorting asap?

Cheers

Adding photographs is something I do, normally for inaccessible and/or the more dangerous items! Its a useful way of ensuring such faults are communicated, and thus can't be disputed at a later date.

my take is photo's are good especially if you want to document proof for your own records as well as the customer passing it on maybe to someone else who will pay for the rectification. It also goes a long way to distinquish you from the competition. The PIR is the standard min requirement but nothing stopping doing a higher level of service with higher service fee to match.

I nearly always attach a summary of the installation with pictures of the code 1 and 2 faults and reference to the PIR observations.

Did it yesterday on a beer trailer, that report will go to Magners cider via my customer to get the approval for repairs, I have been getting quite a bit of work from this customer as they really do like attention to detail.

If the customer looks to be a tight wad, then just the PIR they get with a verbal summary!

Enhanced service for decent money beats bog standard service for discounted rate anyday!! use the enhanced service as a selling point to try and secure your normal rate instead of offering discounts to secure work!

The worst thing about yesterdays job was being surrounded by pallets of most beers and ciders you get in pubs and clubs, and they throw so much stuff away at their customers request if it gets near the sell by date, witnessed 72 pints of carlsberg be emptied out of a barrel as only 8 had been drunken at a marketing event and brewery wont take back barrels with booze in.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
