Hey can anyone recommend the best place or guide to use for coding things on the reports, i know its up to me to identify the problems bur as to what i classify things as can be awkward i feel, with not as much experiance in this a guide would be good!
Could you let me know what a cooker hob directly fed from the CU would be?

check out the EICR one No. 4


and you will find that cooker hob fed directly will carry no code actually as long as it is correct sized cable and O/C protection device.
an isolation point fitted is purely there to make life easier for installer/end user and the bloke who comes to fix it 5 years down the line.

Cheers mate, useful info with the link! n goes to show how easy it can be to have things drummed in to you! makes sense its a practicality issue but have always been led to believe its a must to have. Cheers!

same situation at me bruvs range cooker with metal splash back and Built in hood no means of isolation except the CB at the CCU for the ring final would have been easier to provide a FCU or somert for maintainance purposes
