Hi Guys,
Looking for some thoughts, i have a 60ft x 30ft agricultural shed to install some new exterior lighting to thus lighting up the yard around it.

Currently there are 2 old 500 watt filament floods which have seen better days!

My plan is to replace the floods with these 42w Smart Floodlight c/w Lamp - Black There will be one on the front and 2 on each long side of the shed (1 each end)...a total of 5 lights around the shed

The operate them using the wireless Niteguard system having 3 PIRs one on each long side of the shed and one on the front. These PIRs will be mounted at about 5-6m high.

My questions are...

1. Does anyone have any experience with the Niteguard system and how do they rate it?
2. Are there a better type of flood to be using for this application i.e. LED?

Hope i have covered anything!! Much appreciate any insight, thanks Tom

If you're running in new cables for most of these, why not use four core. Then you can use wired PIRs, switching on all the lights.

Yes, LED would be a better option. A 30W LED flood will be roughly comparable to the lights you've linked to (says they're comparable to 200W halogen), although I might go for 50W, depending on the use of the yard.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be running new cabling anyway so makes sense to do it as you said. I have had a look about at 50W LEDs which will do the job nicely.

Cheers for the advice guys!
