Hi All,

My friend and l have just installed a pir sensor outside light, with indoor switch to isolate it during the day.

As it was quite dark as we finished, l noticed that two of our customer's other two pir outside lights (both on permanent live circuits) were flickering and the one we had installed, wasn't.

I asked him if they did this all of the time whilst they were not operating in sensor mode and he said yes.

I triggered the sensor on both of these lights by walking in front of them and the lights came on with no flicker but the moment they go off again, they begin to flicker rapidly.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Ta...
 
y isolate in the day. the fitting has a built-in photocell for that very purpose. as for the flickering, need to know, as above, what type of lamps.

The one my friend supplied had the PIR but no photocell included, hence the switch.

The bulbs are compact flourescents (not sure what make). Im up there again in about 2 weeks so ill check the manufacturer of the fittings next time l go...
