Hi all, was wiring a lighting circuit today, 8 lights an 2 pir's and 1 switch.

Wired feed to switch, feed out of switch to pir, loop feed to next pir!.
Then brought a switch wire from switch around the two pir's from the switch then another switch wire from switch around the lights, is this correct.. I always wired pir's with a switch wire from pir but was told to do it like this and not to sure about this merhod

Wired in singles mate, basically I'm bringin to browns from switch to pir (a feed and switch wire). Then a switch wire up from switch around all the lights. No dircet link from pir to lights, just wired through the switch, is this how overide switch works. And have a loop feed between the two pir's and a switch wire between the two pirs but not going to the lights, only browns at lights is directly from switch

I'm a bit tired so i'm not fully understanding the situation.

If you want an over-ride switch to stop pir's operating then you'll need to take perm feed through switch then to pir as a 'perm feed'. then take your switch wire from pir to the lights. dont forget the pir will need a neutral too (sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs?)

the route you wire this in could mean that you don't actually go direct from pir to light but that effectively it.

Drew it out an looks simple, was doin my head in thot I done it wron

Mains to switch
Feed from switch to pir
Switch wire from 1 pir to next pir
Switch wire from pir back to switch
Switch wire from switch to lights

Correct me if this is wrong, just never dine it that way but think it correct

Feed from db to common of the switch (2-way switch)
From L1 at the switch to Live at your pir
from L2 at the switch to s/l at your pir
neutral and earth to your pir
then from pir feed to lights.

This is overide on...and will leave your lights on the sensor or on from the switch.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
