Hi all, hope all is well

the ring, there is a ring when I chuck 50 v end to end and r1 + r2. I get 0.00mohms. When I carry the check out in ohms I get greater than 1999.

The question is

Do I split the ring up at the board put into 2x 16amp breakers. But because I know there is a ring do I disconnect at another point so that there are two absolute radials. What would you do?

Many thanks

JS

Ok well the job was originally a fault, tripping rcd. Lol after visually looking at the new board that had been installed and some comical wiring in the airing cupboard I suggested a pir.

So the fact that I get 0.00 when checking with me megger is not enough to determin. I have got every socket of the wall, there are 3 radals. There has been a kitchen bodge cough upgrade where the twin and earth turn to blue and brown. I am betting that had something to do with it.

Ok I temp wired into two desperate breaker. It doesn't Matter what breaker is on all sockets have voltage, surely this determines a ring. But its a crap ring that fails the r1 and r2.

Suggestion? Crappy job ;)

find where the outlet is (if any) where the old colours change to new...
if no `2 different versions` sticker at origin of supply then its a 3....

Ok I found the fault, after splitting circuit one side had 60v the other 230v. I split and rejoined twice until I narrowed the section of circuit that was faulty. It was long but it is done... My bloody brother stuck his foot through ceiling grrr... Lucky just in cuboard. Thoose desperate breaker worth getting hold of lol.
Last thing the cable that I pulled through no protection between the wall, I used faulty cable to pull through new one there were no protection there before... This is no concern is it? No funny jokes... This job is too long for them wanna go home.
