i was wondering if anyone has tried repairing any little jobs, adding the odd double socket or so?
was thinking of using board finnish as i have bag fulls left in cellar,my worry is would it bond or crack existing plasterwork. any ideas welcome?

I have found when I need to fill cracks chips etc is Joint filler, the stuff you mix up, its very smooth and sets quite quick.
I have heard recently that Toupret filler is good to work with, can be bought at toolstation, not tried it my self though.

i was thinking of filler as it has the elasticity factor but i would need quite alot of it and doesn't look that profetional

I just used some stuff the plumber had for a ceiling repair over a foot square plasterboard

I am a dab hand at plastering and was going to skim it then patch the artex
He insisted on me trying this white fluffy type stuff (like candy floss),I was very reluctant,no mixing or preparing req

It is very light stuff and spreads so easily, like butter, after laying on. it was combed. and in about half an hour it went off rock solid
It was apparently ÂŁ 15 for a large bucket,I will almost definitely be using this stuff always in futuire
The problem I have is I dont yet know the name, but will let you know when I see him next

It sounds like one the lightweight fillers, "One Strike Filler" or the similar " Red Devil Onetime" ... the later is for the Man Utd supporters filling in the team cracks:devil2:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^agree^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^the only thing i would say is, for filling chases i would do first coat in one coat plaster, when that has dried use finish plaster.

Edit:- to slow in typing, this was for David's post.
