Plastic trunking over a door way

The use of fire-resistant clips to avoid premature collapse of cables is obviously a good thing, but what about when the cables are in plastic (PVC-U) trunking that offers metal clips for this reason. The reason for asking is I am looking at some options just now (Marshall-Tufflex Mono Plus 20) and it claims:

• Suitable for dado application
• Self extinguishing and non-flame propagating PVC-U
• Fire clips available to secure cables within trunking and prevent premature collapse in the event of a fire

Is there something I am missing as in the event of a fire I would assume the PVC trunking would simply melt and the clips would be useless?

Are the metal retaining clips part of the fixing system of the trunking?

You secure the clips though the trunking into the wall so the idea is the trunking melts away and just the clips remain holding the cables in place.

I'm not sure. I think they simply push in to keep the wires within the trunking if the front is removed:

Yes, @Flanders is correct, I found a separate data sheet showing them being screwed through.

Unfortunately going through that data sheet they only do clips for the middle compartment on that style of trunking so it can't be used as a separate-compartment style if fire cable collapse needs to be considered. Doh!

The ones you have picked do go in the middle but looking at the catalogue there are different ones for the top and bottom compartments

Not for the profile I was originally looking at, page 5 of this lists the ones they do:

So now looking at another profile where I can get clips for all of the compartments.
